KQED Youth Takeover

KQED Youth Takeover, an annual event now in its 7th season, where Bay Area youth are given the opportunity to express their opinions on issues impacting their lives through KQED’s TV, radio, and digital platforms. During this week-long event, youth voices are featured on various shows such as Rightnowish, Forum, Arts & Culture, Political Breakdown, and Perspectives. The event is the culmination of a year-long classroom program by KQED’s Youth Media team, which involves collaboration between the team and Bay Area classrooms, including visits to KQED headquarters. Over 300 students from 14 high school classrooms across 7 Bay Area counties participated in the program, showcasing the engagement and empowerment of young voices in media.
