Greenwich High School Students’ Film Wins At Connecticut History Day Event

Greenwich High School juniors Pearl Lee and Anna Marie Stempien won first place at the Connecticut History Day’s Fairfield County Regional Contest at Sacred Heart University with their film “The Telephone: A New Age of Communications.”

Connecticut History Day, part of National History Day, engages over 4,000 middle and high school students in historical research and project-based learning annually. The competition emphasizes documentaries as audio/visual presentations that incorporate various sources to argue and interpret historical significance. Following their victory, Lee and Stempien will participate in the 2024 National Contest at the University of Maryland, College Park, from June 9–13.
