We often think of mentors as wise and experienced teachers who guide students on a journey to accomplish an educational goal. But there are very specific characteristics that define a good mentor. In this e-book we will explore what are those characteristics and how can you become a great mentor who can impact your students’ success.

Why Use this Project?

We believe that instead of understanding the world as the teacher does, students should construct their own meaning for the world. If they do, then the teachers’ roles shift from dispensing knowledge to helping learners construct their own conceptions of the world. In this role, the teacher is not the arbiter of knowledge but rather is a coach who helps students to engage in a larger community of scholars. This guide is helping teachers achieve that goal.
